Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian mantel clocks were produced in Britain during the reign of King Edward VII, roughly spanning 1901 to 1910. The era favored a return to lighter, classical 18th-century revival styles, frequently integrating fine mahogany cases with intricate marquetry, satinwood inlay, and polished brass fittings.

These clocks were typically constructed from high-grade mahogany, walnut, or rosewood, often adorned with boxwood or satinwood stringing and shell marquetry. Dial faces were commonly made of enamelled metal, framed by cast brass bezels and driven by brass mechanical clockwork.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit genuine wood marquetry flush with the surface rather than printed decals. Look for original hand-cut mechanical movements, period-correct Roman or Arabic numerals on enamelled dials, aged brass patination, and traditional joinery techniques within the wooden casing.

An Edwardian clock acts as a refined focal point when placed atop a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard, or study bookshelf. Anchoring it alongside neutral ceramics or tailored framed art allows the warm tone of the mahogany and brass to contrast cleanly with contemporary walls.

Keep the wooden casing away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent wood movement or varnish cracking. Clean the timber with a soft, dry cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish sparingly, taking care to avoid harsh chemical cleaners on the lacquered brass or enamelled dial.
