Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Edwardian sheet music cabinet uses warm brown walnut with horizontal mouldings along the top and bottom frames, supported on low block feet. A decorative pierced brass gallery rail runs along the upper surface, while a single glazed door opens to reveal internal shelves lined with patterned blue fabric and fitted with small white category labels including 'SACRED', 'SONGS', and 'VARIOUS'. A replacement brass drop handle is fixed to the left stile of the glazed door. The piece measures 94 cm high, 49 cm wide, and 42 cm deep, offering practical storage for paper collections. Suitable for a study, music room, or empty corner, the unit houses sheet music or documents within a traditional gentleman's library setting. The wooden frame displays standard signs of age including minor surface wear, while the glass pane provides clear visibility of the labelled tiers inside. The flat top surface accommodates decorative objects or lighting, making it a functional storage solution for daily residential use.

FAQs

An Edwardian sheet music cabinet is a specialised wooden storage piece produced during the early 20th century, specifically designed to house bound and loose sheet music for domestic musicians.

These cabinets were predominantly crafted from hardwoods such as walnut, mahogany, or rosewood, frequently incorporating glazed front doors, brass gallery rails, and fabric-lined shelves.

Authentic pieces feature clean proportion lines, brass hardware, categorised shelf labels such as Sacred or Songs, and period-correct joinery.

An antique music cabinet works as an accent storage piece in a study, hallway, or living area, ideal for storing prints, documents, or small collectables.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally, keeping the wood away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
