Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian hanging corner cupboard is a space-saving wall-mounted storage unit originating in the eighteenth century, designed specifically to fit into the ninety-degree angle of a room. These pieces frequently feature timber frames with glazed or panelled doors and were historically used to house ceramics, tea services, and silverware.

Traditional construction relies on native dense hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, walnut, or pine. Glazed doors incorporate individual hand-cut glass panes secured by timber glazing bars known as astragals, while interior linings often featured pine or painted finishes.

Authentic period examples demonstrate hand-drawn timber joinery, such as hand-cut dovetails on internal drawers or frame joints, irregular hand-blown glass panes, hand-forged iron or cast brass H-hinges, and evidence of historical hand-planing on unexposed rear surfaces.

Mount the cabinet at eye level in an underutilised corner of a dining room, hallway, or kitchen to maximise vertical space. Highlighting the contrast between the dark exterior timber and a painted interior display area helps draw attention to decorative ceramics, glassware, or books.

Maintain the timber by applying a natural beeswax polish once or twice a year using a soft cloth, rubbing along the grain. Glass panes should be cleaned carefully using a damp microfibre cloth, ensuring ammonia-based sprays do not come into contact with original wood finishes or brass fittings.
