A Late 19th Century Gilt Bronze 'drumhead' Mantel Clock

A late 19th century French gilt bronze ‘drumhead’ mantel clock, the white dial with Roman numerals and outer minute track and gilt metal spade hands and Brocot adjustment within a ‘drum’ with bold fluting and a finely cast leaf bezel, mounted on an architectural style support cast with scrolls and floral swags and with acanthus leaves to each side, and inset with a Sčvres style oval panel depicting a purple pheasant in a landscape, on a wavy plinth base and on bun feet, with to the rear a pierced door to the eight day movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell, the backplate stamped JBD in an oval, French, circa 1875. Supplied with a pendulum and key.
 
Condition: Overall very good, the gilding on the case is in very good condition with little wear and no evidence of polishing, the panel is in excellent condition, the dial is a replacement, and the movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and is in full working condition, and the bell has a good tone.
