Marked HW. Excellent original condition. English c 1910. A beautiful example of early twentieth century English arts and crafts.

History
Hugh Wallis (1871-1943) was a coppersmith working in Altrincham, Cheshire, mostly making trays with distinctive pewter floral inlays and patterned edges. Hugh studied at the Herkomer Art School in Bushey, Herts and was exhibited at the Royal Academy 14 times and opened his Altrincham studio in 1900.
