A fine and elegant pair of English Regency armchairs dating from the early 19th century, retaining their original sophistication and decorative detail.
The chairs are of classic sabre-leg form with beautifully shaped scrolling arms terminating in distinctive scroll supports, enriched with brass roundel mounts. The backs feature turned and reeded top rails above decorative splats centred by floral brass-inlaid roundels, creating a refined and balanced design.
Raised on elegant sabre front and rear legs, the chairs display the graceful lines and restrained ornament associated with the Regency period. The cane seats have been sympathetically renewed and remain in excellent order, complementing the rich colour and patina of the timber.
A highly decorative and practical pair, equally suited to a drawing room, library, hallway or bedroom.
Presented in very good antique condition with minor age-related wear, recently recaned and polished.
