It was listed by Leeds Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Leeds Antiques has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The piece is of elegant serpentine form, the well-figured mahogany base fitted with three drawers and supporting an oval mirror plate within a shaped frame.

The base is decorated with fine boxwood and ebony stringing, set within a crossbanded border, the top displaying a pleasing colour and natural variation to the grain. The drawers retain their original turned bone handles, with matching roundel terminals to the uprights, providing a subtle and attractive contrast. The central drawer is fitted with its original working lock and key.

The mirror plate appears to be original and retains a good, usable surface, showing some light marks and very small spots of foxing consistent with age. The drawers are oak lined and run well. The piece stands on well-shaped ogee bracket feet, completing a balanced and practical design.

A particularly attractive and honest example, offering both decorative appeal and useful storage, well suited to a range of interiors.
