Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The chairs have turned front legs and sabre back legs. The drop-in seats have been fairly recently upholstered in a red leather. Please note: These chairs have some small hairline cracks to the front of the seat rails (see photos).
These chairs were purchased from York Minster, and were in St Williams College. Founded in 1460, St William’s College is a Mediaeval building in York, England, originally built to provide accommodation for priests attached to chantry chapels at nearby York Minster.

Good colour and patina. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Newly upholstered in red leather. These chairs have some small hairline cracks to the front of the seat rails (see photos).
