A very unusual and decorative painted silk and applique mirror. The mirror frame has a wooden base, covered with silk which has then been painted with swags and ribbons in the rococo manner. There are also printed applique panels applied to the frame. The mirror plate is the original and has a nice bevelled edge. The mirror has been made to function as a wall mirror or as a table mirror with an easel stand, in this regard the back is beautifully finished in marbleised paper. The whole is a wonderfully charming and decorative piece in excellent condition.
