This is an Extremely Rare Transitional Single Handed 8 Day Longcase Clock.
It has Two Trains, one for the Going and the other for the Strike as per the Usual 8 Day Clock Format. But, it Only has an Hour Train and No Minute Mechanism.
The Brass Dial with Silvered Chapter Ring is marked for Stephen Blackburn from Oakham Rutland. Circa 1710- 1770. He Numbered some of his Clocks.
Attractive Oak Case with Mahogany Crossbanding Inlay Decorations. The Hood with Mahogany Turned Columns, Topped by 3 Eagles on Ball Finials. All Raised on Bracket Feet.
Height 82 inches (6 ft 10 inches) or 208.5 cm. So of a Convenient Small Proportion being Under 7 Foot.
The Movement Has been Checked, Serviced & Tested to be in Good Working Order. Keeping Good Time.
