A stunning pair of antique Regency period gilt wood pier mirrors. They were made in England, they date from around the 1810-1830 period.

The quality is fantastic, they are beautifully made and are a lovely, petite size. The gilt wood finish has a gorgeous patina and colour tone.

The condition is excellent for their age, with just the right amount of patina. There are a few minor marks and chips to the finish, commensurate for age and seen in the images

Giltwood frames require gentle care using a soft, dry camel-hair brush or microfibre duster to remove surface dust. Water and chemical cleaners must be avoided, as moisture dissolves water gilding and damages the underlying gesso.

Regency pier mirrors function effectively when hung as a symmetrical pair flanking a fireplace, doorway, or artwork. Their tall, narrow proportions fit well in hallways, narrow alcoves, or positioned above console tables to introduce architectural height and depth to contemporary spaces.

Authentic Regency mirrors exhibit classical architectural motifs, including fluted pilasters, Corinthian capitals, and breakfront cornices.
