This Victorian overmantle mirror dates from 1880 and brings traditional English country house character to interior schemes. The arched frame is finished in original water-gilding of a bright gold colour, embellished with raised bead mouldings and sculptural acanthus leaf scroll carvings at the base corners. Visible details include round brass stud decorations set into the timber frame, original side hanging plates, and small white ceramic bun feet elevating the base. The reflective glass plate shows light overall foxing from age, while the intact timber backing boards remain secured behind. The whole piece measures 117 cm wide by 78 cm high.
