Georgian-style Mahogany Corner Display Cabinet with Astragal Glazed Door

This finely proportioned Georgian-style corner cabinet is crafted in richly figured mahogany and designed to fit neatly into a right-angled corner, offering both elegant display space and practical enclosed storage. The cabinet is formed in two sections, with a serpentine glazed upper display case set above a panelled lower cupboard, creating a balanced and architectural silhouette.

The upper section is distinguished by its bowed glazed door, framed with slender astragal glazing bars arranged in a series of intersecting pointed arches, lending a subtle Gothic influence within an otherwise classical Georgian revival form. Above, a moulded cornice with a carved dentil frieze provides a crisp visual termination and reinforces the cabinet’s traditional character. The interior of the display compartment is finished in a soft contrasting tone, enhancing light reflection and allowing porcelain, glassware, or decorative objects to be viewed clearly. Three shaped corner shelves provide graduated display levels within the curved front.

Below, the cabinet transitions to a pair of panelled cupboard doors veneered in beautifully selected mahogany with symmetrical flame figuring. The fielded panels are outlined with moulded borders, and the doors are fitted with a central escutcheon. Behind, the lower compartment offers useful concealed storage with an internal shelf, suitable for tableware, linens, or household items. The base is finished with a shaped apron and bracket-style feet that complete the traditional profile.
