Edwardian Fruitwood Corner Chair

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Antique and Unique

A very pretty Edwardian sheraton revival corner chair with floral satinwood inlay to the top rail and beautifully turned legs. The seat is covered in a patterned fabric which suits the chair very well. The chair has a great shape and a lovely rich colour - a very decorative piece of furniture.

Condition: The chair appears to have had some repairs where the legs meet the seat - there are some plugged fixing holes on the legs and some splits to the seat frame. They are not especially obvious visually, but the chair does have a small amount of flex in the structure and the front leg is slightly tilted. It is perfectly functional however and will easily bear a persons weight. We are of the opinion that trying to improve the flex in the structure may do more harm than good, and as it isn’t causing any major problems we have decided to leave the chair as it is. Otherwise it is in very good condition, with a few minor scratches and scuffs in accordance with age and use.
