Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George IV period, spanning from 1820 to 1830, is characterised by a continuation of Regency classical influences mixed with early Victorian mass-production techniques, often featuring rich tropical hardwoods like mahogany with understated linear stringing.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid or veneered plantation-grown mahogany over a secondary softwood or oak frame, joined with precision dovetails and finished with hand-rubbed wax polish.

Authenticity is determined by examining the patination, hand-cut dovetail joints, traditional brass or steel escutcheons, and the presence of hand-sawn veneer rather than modern machine-cut sheets.

Placed atop a coffee table, bookshelf, or console, a historical wooden box adds textural warmth and serves as a functional receptacle for storing small household items.

Maintain the timber by keeping it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources, applying a microcrystalline wax periodically to nourish the wood and protect the polish.
