Early 20th Century Arts & Crafts Walnut Box

A well-made early 20th-century walnut box, English, dating from the Edwardian period. Of rectangular form, raised on a stepped ebonised base, and fitted with a gently pyramidal lid surmounted by a simple ebonised handle.

The walnut displays an attractive natural grain throughout, with restrained ebonised detailing used to define the form. The interior is plain and unlined, suitable for use as a desk box, document box, or for general storage.

Measures 25 x 15 x 12 (height) cm

In good condition overall. The lid sits correctly but is slightly loose, with a small amount of movement when handled. There is general surface wear, including light scratches and minor staining, consistent with age and use. The interior is clean and usable.
