Unusual Grottoesque Antique Gilt Wall Mirror

A beautifully made, 19th century antique original gilt grotto wall mirror that features wooden callus decorations along with applied oak branches. These callus roundels are naturally made by a tree when a branch falls off the trunk, the tree repairs itself by making these callus forms. In excellent condition and complete with the original mercury mirror plate and pine backboards. The gilt finish is original too. Dates to around 1840.
