A lovely example of a Regency period writing slope, with brass floral inlay, all intact, with shaped vacant engraving plate, circular brass escutcheon and working lock and key. Full length drawer beneath secured by a brass pin accessible only when the box is open. Flush fitting campaign style handles either side.
Inside the writing boards retain the original skiver, in excellent condition but with the inevitable wear along the centre fold. Original brass screw topped inkwells, pen tray, nib holder and lidded compartment
