A pair of Scottish 19th century walnut armchairs by J. & T. Scott, Edinburgh of the best quality. Made in the Aesthetic style, the backs with turned finials, moulded and polished cresting rail and padded upholstered backs over a row of turned spindles. The padded arms are supported by turned columns to upholstered seats. Traditionally upholstered, covered in green reverse calf. Stands on ring turned tapered legs that terminate with brass and china castors. Impressed mark of the firm: J. & T. Scott, Edinburgh and also signed by the chair maker: J. Whitehead.
