A Pair of Large Scale 18th Century French Walnut Library Armchairs.
These chairs are large scale upholstered armchairs which were typically designed for libraries. These particular examples are French and of mid 18th century date. Made in walnut, they have restrained rococo detailing such as the cabriole legs to both front and back of the chairs, a sign of additional quality and attention to detail. The front and side seat rails have a moulded edge. The backs are high with a shaped top.
The chairs have been fully upholstered to an under finish, ready for the client''s choice of outer covering or could be left as is for a contemporary look.
These chairs, in our opinion, stand exceptionally well.
