There is an inlaid cartouch on the top with a matching escutcheon.
The condition is excellent, and all we have had to do is give it a good clean and polish.
There is a dished pen holder which is removable, and a section for stamps or other small things.
Unfortunately the original inkwells were missing, as is often the case, and we have replaced them with two new ones with brass tops - these are top quality.
Both halves of the writing surface open on hinges to reveal useful storage space.
All round, this is a good size writing box and in ready-to-use condition.
