This is an interesting snuff box, the lid is carved with two figures - a gentleman who is wearing a top hat, jacket and trousers and is carrying a stick and a second man also wearing a hat, jacket and trousers, carrying a whip. This scene could refer to a riding or coaching scene a man with a crop or whip and a gentleman - similar to popular scenes in the early 1800s or it could be a satirical caricature.

the lid has a good clear carving giving a 3D effect.

The snuff box measures 8.8cm w x 2.2cm h.
