Mark Seabrook Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
...and as if that is not enough, it has a "crinoline" stretcher true testament to the skill of the chair maker or "bodger" as they were called, who made this handsome chair with very simple tools....the colour as you would expect from yew and elm is very good and the chair is in original condition with no repairs....
English -Yorkshire. C1840-60.
