Scottish Victorian Antique Gold and Agate Snuff Box, Scotland C. 1880

Description

A superb example of an antique Scottish 15ct gold and agate snuff box. Probably made in Edinburgh in the Victorian period when using 15ct gold was usual. The 11 part hinge is tight and the box closes crisply. The agates on the top and bottom are in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. It has been professionally tested as 15 ct gold although it is unmarked. A box that would grace any collection.

WEIGHT; 63 grams approx.
