For your enjoyment I am proud to offer this extremely fine example of a genuine L.N.E.R railway clock. Dating from circa 1890 this quality English chain-driven fusee movement has been fully overhauled and is in excellent condition, the back plate having the original N.E.R number 3777 941 and 12” stamped into it. The rectangular plates are held together by turned shaped pillars screwed in front and back. The mahogany case has fantastic colour and patination since its restoration and the lower door retains its working lock. The case also benefits from two side doors and stabilising hooks.The recently restored dial is a particular feature of this lovely clock and is complimented by the original hands and finished off with a spun brass bezel hinged on the right. The rear of the dial has markings to it indicating when it was repainted from its North Eastern Railway numbering to its current configuration..The LNER Clock Register records number 6502 in use at Wetherby Goods Of...
