The Georgian design period, spanning from 1714 to 1830, is characterised by classical proportions, refined craftsmanship, and an emphasis on symmetry and elegant veneer work.

Craftsmen typically utilised dense tropical hardwoods like mahogany, satinwood, and burr veneers, often employing hand-cut dovetail joints and precise stringing inlay to create durable, decorative containers.

Authenticity is determined by examining hand-cut joints, the presence of historical secondary timbers, old patination, and the ageing of traditional animal glues rather than modern adhesives.

This piece can be placed atop a sideboard, desk, or coffee table to introduce warmth and historic texture while serving as a functional vessel for small items.

Maintain pieces by keeping them away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations, applying microcrystalline wax occasionally to nourish the timber without damaging the finish.
