Set of Six William IV Mahogany Dining Chairs, c.1835
A fine set of six dining chairs from the William IV period, circa 1835, crafted in solid mahogany.
Each chair features a gently shaped top rail and delicately carved mid-rail above a comfortable drop-in seat, supported by turned and reeded front legs and swept back supports.
The warm patina and rich grain of the mahogany are complemented by the restrained carving typical of the early 19th century. The chairs are well-proportioned and practical for everyday use.
Condition is good overall, with minor signs of age including small historic repairs and some wear to the finish. Upholstery is later but sound, with firm drop-in seats.
Dimensions: W48 x D45 x H85 cm (each)
