Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The set of 6 mahogany regency chairs are structurally excellent, a well designed chair with many Regency design cues, rope twist top rails and brass mounted decoration to the splat and other brass patera. Each chair has a good even colour and sits well.
The chairs most likely had newly caned seats sometime around the 3rd quarter ish to late 20th century, at the time of having the professionally hand made squab cushions, the cushions have no tears and generally considered good condition whilst have lost some colour due to sunlight exposure, may want a clean but all round a good complement to the chair.
The chairs sit well without any wobbles or creaks, all joints are tight, please note that 4 of the cane seats are excellent whilst 2 have damage and will need repair.
This is an excellent example of 6 Regency dining chairs, or occasional chairs, hall chairs, landing chairs, dressing room etc.., a set of 6 or 3 pairs. Due to 1 pair having a damaged cane seats sometime around we have priced these sensibly to reflect.
