Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

Nineteenth century farmhouse seating emerged from rural workshops, prioritising utilitarian strength, ergonomic saddle seats, and steam-bent wooden components for domestic and agricultural use.

These pieces typically combine native timbers such as elm for sculpted seats, ash or birch for steam-bent backrests, and pine or beech for turned underframes, employing traditional wedge-and-tenon joints.

Authenticity is indicated by hand-carved adze marks on the seats, variations in turned spindles, hand-cut joinery, and natural patination resulting from decades of wear.

They pair effectively with contemporary minimalist dining tables to introduce organic texture, warmth, and historical contrast into modern dining spaces.

Maintain the timber by avoiding direct sunlight and excessive heat fluctuations, applying microcrystalline wax periodically to nourish the surface without sealing the natural grain.
