FAQs

Art Deco furniture, emerging prominently in France during the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by streamlined geometries, luxurious materials such as marble and exotic veneers, and subtle modernist influences while retaining traditional craftsmanship.

These cabinets were typically constructed from solid hardwoods like oak or walnut, frequently accented with contrasting veneers, brass hardware, and inset marble or granite tops for durability and elegance.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-correct joinery such as dovetail drawers, natural material aging including patinated brass handles, hand-carved motifs, and structural construction techniques consistent with early 20th-century European cabinetry.

They can be integrated into modern bedrooms by pairing them with minimalist neutral linens and sleek contemporary lighting to create a balanced eclectic aesthetic that highlights the historical wood grain and marble.

Preserve the wood by applying microcrystalline wax periodically to nourish the surface, and protect marble tops by avoiding acidic liquids and using coasters to prevent staining.
