18th Century Mahogany Wine Box

Description

Fine 18th century George 3rd Cuban mahogany wine box or cellarette. Oblong in shape with fluted, canted corners with a quarter round mould to the top edge. Square legs with original brass and leather castors. All the original brass work, side carrying handles and axe head handle to the lid. It has never had divisions inside as can be seen and a modern bottle stands up inside with plenty of room. The piece is a gorgeous colour with great patina and a waxed finish. A real nice piece of mid 18th century furniture that is also still very useful.
