19th Century Country House Armchair

A beautifully formed ''proper'' 19th century country house armchair. Raised on on short turned legs with over sized gilt brass Cope & Collinson casters. The inside of the back rail marked this chair for ''Large Drawing Room 2'' c1840
 
Newly recovered in red and gold striped cotton. We have retained the original horsehair filling to the back and arms and the seat has been fully traditionally restored with new springs, horsehair stitched front edge and thick feather and down seat cushion.
