A 19thC Brass Banded Rosewood Writing Slope C1870, 35cm with Black Leather
A fine quality mid to late 19th century rosewood writing slope with brass banding and inset brass plaque or cartouche, a superb example, presented in excellent structural and decorative condition.
The attractive slope sits well with no loss or obvious distress.
The box opens to reveal its now newly replaced soft black leather writing slope in mostly very good condition and intact whilst keeping the outer gilt and tooled edge which shows obvious signs of timeworn use whilst remaining very useable and mostly very good condition.
The writing slope tilts up to reveal 2 compartments with a rosewood pen recess and inkwell compartments, 2 original glass inkwells with marginally differing lids.
An excellent quality 19th century writing slope box of considerable decorative appeal, please note there is no key.
