We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Edwardian Art Nouveau furniture, produced roughly between 1901 and 1910, typically features stylised organic motifs such as flowing floral and plant-inspired cut-outs, blending traditional Edwardian craftsmanship with early 20th-century modernist design.

These pieces are predominantly constructed from solid oak, valued for its durability and prominent grain, and are typically upholstered in period-appropriate textiles featuring woven patterns or stripes.

Authentic pieces exhibit period construction techniques such as mortise and tenon joints, hand-cut joinery, genuine timber ageing, and maker marks or registration numbers stamped into the wooden frame.

Pairing antique wooden chairs with a contemporary dining table creates a striking eclectic contrast, grounding modern spaces with historical texture and handcrafted warmth.

Maintain antique oak by keeping it out of direct sunlight, avoiding excessive humidity fluctuations, and periodically applying a microcrystalline wax to nourish and protect the timber surface.
