Victorian Coromandel Parquetry Jewellery Keepsake Box

Description

A very nice jewellery or keepsake box in coromandel that dates to around 1840

In great original condition with a few marks consistent with its age, a striking black and tan configuration on the carcass, parquetry edging and inlays around the mother of pearl cartouche and escutcheon

The interior has been lined in a hand printed paper with a foil and gold finish which really compliments it

has a lift out tray and a working lock and key

Measures 11 inches wide, 8 inches high and 8 inches de

A really attractive item that would make a desirable present for a loved one as a jewellery or a watch box
