This is a fine quality antique English Georgian mahogany carver, in the style of Chippendale, with a “ribbon back” design, ideal as a dining / desk or occasional chair, with an upholstered red seat, circa 1800, in excellent original condition. This strong and heavy chair is constructed of solid mahogany and feature a shaped top rail, with pierced “ribbon back”, flanked by vertical rails, which secure the shaped arms. The Georgian mahogany carver features a drop-in seat within a fine twin-moulded seat frame. The chair frame is raised on chamfered block front legs, with sabre legs to the rear and the legs are united by a sturdy “H” stretcher. The drop-in seat is upholstered in a pale red draylon upholstery. The seat is generously padded and firm, but comfortable at the same time – you do not sink into the seat. The existing upholstery is clean and free from wear and marks. If you do not like the fabric, we can re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice. We charge Ł25 labour for this upholstery service.

The seat is upholstered in a pale red draylon upholstery. If you do not like the fabric, we charge Ł25 labour to re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice. The existing upholstery is clean and free from wear and marks. This Georgian mahogany chair is solid in joint and ready to be used.
