Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian mahogany carver, in the style of a Chippendale chair / armchair, ideal as a dining / office or occasional chair, with its original blue petit-point and tapestry seat, circa 1780, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering their age. The Georgian chair has been glued solid in joint and the chair frame has been French polished in our workshop by hand, to a professional standard, therefore, the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. The Georgian armchair boasts its original blue tapestry and petit-point seat material; which is in very good condition, given its age and very rare to find. The blue tapestry and petit-point seat material has been delicately hand-washed to ensure it is clean. There are sympathetic repairs to the corners of the tapestry material (see photos). The seat has been finished with new traditional hessian backing to the underside. This Georgian mahogany carver is solid in joint and ready to be used.
