The chairs are constructed of solid mahogany and feature a shaped top rail, with a finely executed pierced central fretwork back splat, flanked by vertical moulded rails, featuring a drop-in seat within a fine twin-moulded seat frame. The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality structured cream silk brocade upholstery, featuring a cream background, with a pale gold structure and duck egg blue spot. The seats have been finished with tradition hessian backing to the undersides. Therefore, the seats are in excellent and clean condition, with no marks. The seats are well padded and firm but comfortable at the same time – you do not sink into the seat. If you do not like the fabric, we will recover the seats in a fabric of your choice (we charge £30 labour per seat). The pair of Georgian mahogany dining chairs feature moulded chamfered block legs to the front, with sabre legs to the rear, united by ‘H’ stretchers for additional strength. Chairs with chamfered legs denote quality. This is a true set of chairs; they have not been matched together from other sets of chairs.

Condition Report:
This is a fine quality pair of Georgian mahogany dining chairs, circa 1780, in the style of the Chippendale period, with newly upholstered seats, in excellent original condition. The chairs have been cleaned and French polished and all loose joints have been glued in our workshop; therefore, the chairs are solid in joint. They are solid in joint (not loose or wobbly) and are ready to use.
