A stunning original antique French clock by the renown maker Achille Brocot. It features exquisite Sčvres Style porcelain with pompadour rose pink ground. The large urn to the top is finely painted to both sides with exotic birds. The dial is complete with it's original finely cut and blued steel hands. Please note that this style of clock does not have a glass bezel or a rear door to the case. The clock is complete with its original gesso base.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with slight wear to the high spots in places. The porcelain is also excellent with no damage and only very minor wear to the over-glaze gilt decoration. We have replaced the fabric on the gesso base with fresh.
Achille Brocot was a member of the renowned Brocot clockmaking family, the eldest son of Louis Gabriel Brocot. He was treasurer to La Société des Horlogers in Paris and was awarded First Class Medal at the 1855 Paris Exhibition - Tardy, Dictionnaire des Horlogers.
