French Antique Company has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Large early 19th century French gilt leaner mirror in superb condition.
It dates from around 1810.
It has its very wide (15cm!) , substantial real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame with unusual crest.

It has its original stunning mercury glass with no scratches. Mercury glass is increasingly hard to find and was not made after 1840. All the Palace of Versailles mirrors have mercury glass because it gives a sparkle like no other.
