Circa 1880. Attractive inlaid kingwood and ormolu mounted French lampstand or side cabinet. The rectangular multi-colour scagliola top above frieze drawer with foliate inlay and herringbone veneers over a cupboard with matching inlay flanked by fluted sides with ormolu mounts. With matching inlay to the sides & supported on cabriole legs with ormolu mounts and an inlaid under-shelf. In excellent condition.

This French lampstand or side cabinet originates from the late nineteenth century in the Louis XV style, fashioned from warm brown kingwood with marquetry inlay and gilt ormolu mounts.
