Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Preservation requires maintaining stable room temperatures away from direct sunlight and central heating sources, applying occasional microcrystalline wax, and avoiding liquid polishes or excessive moisture.

Placing this object on a contemporary surface like a minimalist coffee table or a clean-lined console allows its rich historical texture and natural wood patterns to act as a focal point.

Authenticity is determined by examining the hand-cut nature of the veneers, the presence of old animal protein glues, traditional hand-cut dovetail joints, and natural age-related shrinkage cracks within the timber grain.

These decorative containers were typically constructed using native British hardwoods such as laburnum, walnut, oak, and fruitwoods, frequently enhanced with contrasting stringing made from holly or boxwood.

Oyster veneering is a decorative woodwork technique popular in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, involving branches or small-diameter logs being cross-cut transversely to produce elliptical or circular wooden discs resembling oysters.
