Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Keep items out of direct sunlight and away from rapid humidity fluctuations to prevent wood shrinkage and lifting of the tiny mosaic tesserae. Clean gently with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding liquid polishes or moisture.

These small wooden objects function well as focal points on side tables, desks, or open shelving, adding texture, historical interest, and warm tones to contemporary minimalist or traditional schemes.

Authentic pieces feature extremely fine mosaic tesserae without printed elements, often containing multiple contrasting wood species, and frequently bear stamp marks or paper labels from notable makers such as Nye or Barton on the base.

Pieces are constructed using many native and exotic woods of varying natural colours. Craftsmen assemble thousands of vertical wood filaments into a block, which is then sliced thinly to create repeating mosaic bands and pictorial panels.

Tunbridge Ware is a specific type of woodwork characterized by intricate mosaic designs made from numerous tiny wood segments, originating in the town of Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent, England, primarily during the 18th and 19th centuries.
