A Fine French Antique Oval Gilt Mirror

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Culvertons

This impressive 19th-century oval mirror has a finely decorated chased surround and well-detailed floral surmount. The lustrous water-gilded surface immediately draws one''s attention. It came to us in its present state, and its good condition was the deciding factor when considering its purchase from a private estate. It appears to have been sensitively restored in its past, and most importantly the original mirror plate, which has minor imperfections commensurate with its age, looks to have been retained. Even the original backboards have been kept. A lovely, well-presented and decorative antique mirror.
