In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Mid-19th-century dining chairs typically feature traditional craftsmanship, often drawing inspiration from regional English country designs with spindle backs, shaped wooden seats, and turned legs.

These chairs are commonly constructed from native hardwoods such as elm, ash, and beech, utilising traditional joinery techniques like mortise and tenon to ensure long-lasting structural integrity.

Authenticity is identified through hand-turned components, tool marks on the underside of solid wood seats, appropriate patination, and wear patterns consistent with age rather than artificial distress.

Mixing antique wooden seating with a contemporary dining table adds warmth, texture, and historical contrast to modern minimalist or transitional interior schemes.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight or heat sources, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish and protect the historic wooden finish.
