Spencer Robertson Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The front and rear rails are stamped with a R to the underside which was used by the Gillows firm, reference Susan E Stuart vol 2 page 272. This form of chair is known as a curricle chair after a Roman design, adopted by Gillows in the early 19 century, the chair is in very good condition with its original patina, seat height 43cm, supplied with a feather & down cushion.
