This 1890 Art Nouveau display cabinet comes in dark brown mahogany with glass, mirror and brass hardware. The Victorian and Gothic style furniture stands 175 cm high, 86 cm wide and 40 cm deep. An ornate pierced cresting surmounts the superstructure, which includes a shaped mirror panel flanked by small display shelves and supported by sweeping curved arms. Below this drinks serving area sits a single drawer with two metal drop handles and carved scrollwork details. The lower section comprises a single glazed door with fretwork decoration at the top, enclosing internal shelving set above slender cabriole legs. Suitable for use in a living room, dining room or hallway, the cabinet provides storage and display space for glassware, bottles or decorative objects. The dark timber finish and polished brass handles complement period and traditional interior schemes. The piece stands ready for placement in a home interior setting.

Art Nouveau furniture, popular from the late 1880s through the 1900s, is characterised by sinuous, asymmetrical lines, floral motifs, and whiplash curves inspired by natural organic forms.

Cabinets from this era were typically constructed using fine hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut, or rosewood, combined with hand-cut glass panels, bevelled mirror plates, and cast brass hardware.

Authentic pieces feature hand-carved organic details, hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, original silvered or leaded glass, period cast brass pull handles, and natural surface wear consistent with age.

These cabinets serve as focal points in modern dining rooms, living areas, or hallways, perfect for housing fine glassware, barware, or curated collections of ceramics and curiosities.

Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent drying or fading. Clean wood surfaces with a soft cloth and apply high-grade beeswax polish annually, while using ammonia-free cleaner on glass.
