Edwardian furniture, produced between 1901 and 1910, often lighter in form than Victorian pieces, frequently drew inspiration from earlier Georgian and Sheraton revivals, incorporating delicate stringing, satinwood inlay, and refined proportions.

These pieces were predominantly constructed from solid hardwoods such as mahogany or walnut, frequently accented with satinwood or boxwood stringing, brass hardware, and hand-blown or cylinder glass panels.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate construction methods such as hand-cut dovetails, older secondary woods like pine or oak at the interior, traditional brass hinges, and natural patina consistent with age.

This piece works well mounted in an unused corner to display curated collections of ceramics or glassware, adding warmth and vertical storage to contemporary spaces without occupying floor area.

Maintain the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the finish.
