These two Georgian dram or gin glasses date to the early nineteenth century during the period of King George III. Made from clear lead crystal, each vessel has a conical bowl decorated with broad vertical flute cutting at the base, an angular knopped stem, and a circular footed base with a ground pontil. The set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Each glass stands 8.8 cm in height, with a bowl diameter of 4.6 cm and a foot diameter of 5.5 cm. Originally designed for serving a single measure of neat spirits such as gin, whisky or brandy, these items suit display and occasional use in a home today. They fit well on a sideboard top in a gentleman's library or dining room, functioning as period barware or as decorative table accessories.

Dram glasses were small, heavy-stemmed drinking vessels crafted during the 18th and early 19th centuries specifically for serving neat spirits such as gin, whisky, or cordials in measured quantities.

Glassware from this period was primarily hand-blown from lead crystal, prized for its clarity and ring, decorated with hand-cut flutes, facets, or panel work.

Authentic Georgian stemware frequently exhibits hand-cut facet work, a smoothed or ground pontil scar under the base, minor asymmetrical variations, and a pronounced weight characteristic of lead glass.

Displaying antique spirit glasses on a drinks tray or on a sideboard top catches natural light and highlights the geometry of the cut facets.

Hand wash gently in lukewarm water using mild detergent and a non-abrasive cloth, taking care to avoid automated dishwashers and rapid temperature fluctuations.
