This Edwardian display cabinet is made from dark brown mahogany with well-figured veneers and a soft patterned fabric lining inside. The Chippendale Revival style piece stands 151 cm high, 122 cm wide, and 39 cm deep, supported by four cabriole legs with carved ball and claw feet. A shaped top gallery features central carving above a moulded cornice with beaded detailing, while the twin glazed doors and glass side panels display intricate astragal woodwork. Inside, multiple horizontal shelves provide storage space for porcelain, glassware, or decorative objects. A central wooden panel separates the two doors, giving symmetry to the front elevation. Minor signs of wear are visible across the dark polished timber surfaces. The cabinet works well in a traditional sitting room, dining room, or hallway to display collections while protecting items behind glass doors.

Produced during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), Edwardian display cabinets often incorporated elements from 18th-century revival styles, featuring lighter proportions, elegant astragal glazing, and refined mahogany veneers.

These cabinets are predominantly constructed from solid mahogany and rich mahogany veneers, fitted with clear glass panes, brass lock mechanisms, and interior fabric linings to showcase glass or ceramics.

Authentic period pieces usually feature hand-finished joinery, original locks, delicate astragal glazing bars applied over glass frames, and carved leg motifs such as cabriole legs with ball and claw feet.

Position the cabinet in a dining room, hallway, or living area as a focal storage piece, using the fabric-lined shelves to display curated glassware, books, or decorative objects.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply natural beeswax polish occasionally to preserve the timber finish, ensuring the piece is kept away from direct heat sources and excessive moisture.
